studio policies

We at The Glow Dance Company are dedicated to giving you the atmosphere you expect from a studio. Please read our studio policies as we expect our families to adhere to them at all times.
Studio Holidays/Breaks
The studio dance seasons follow the CCSD school year calendar. Holidays and breaks during seasons will not earn make-up class opportunities. If a class is cancelled due to teacher emergency, weather, etc, The Glow Dance Company will provide and honor a make-up class.
Commitment
Thank you for being a member of our dance family. By completing enrollment, you enter into a contractual agreement for the enrolled season. You agree to attend all enrolled classes and complete the season in its entirety, as well as, participate in the end of season recital. Should the dancer opt to stop at any point during the enrolled season, we require a 30 day notice (see 30 day notice policy). For team dancers, in addition to the 30 day notice and the remaining month’s in the season tuition will still be due and will be charged to the card or account on file. Dancers/students enrolled in classes have made a commitment to learn and advance their skills at The Glow Dance Company and are not allowed to take the same or similar classes at another studio. Should the student be interest in taking classes not currently offered at The Glow Dance Company, they are more than welcome to enroll in those classes elsewhere. Please ask The Glow Dance Company if you have any questions or concerns.
No Bullying Policy
The Glow Dance Company takes bullying seriously. The studio is a safe place for all who walk in the door. All dancers/students and parents are expected to help lift up and encourage all who are in the studio. In the event of misconduct, the studio staff will address the issue with the involved parties. Should the issue present itself again, the families involved and the staff of the studio will have a meeting to address and correct all concerns. In the unfortunate event none of the above was successful; the party deemed unwilling to correct behavior will be removed from the studio. No refunds will be provided.
 Dress Code
The Glow Dance Company takes pride in how it presents itself on and off stage. We believe clothing should never distract from the art. We do not allow any exposed midriff, provocative or suggestive clothing to be worn in the studio or at events where a dancer is representing The Glow Dance Company.
All approved dance wear is available for purchase from The Glow Dance Company. All dancewear used in recitals, performances and events are required to be purchased from the studio. This allows for consistency.
Should a student not be in proper dress code in a class, they will receive one warning. Should it happen again, they will be required to sit in class – not participate and watch the class to ensure they do not miss any important elements of the lesson for that day. Should a student fail to be in proper dress code more than 3 times, the students/families card on file will be charged for the appropriate class wear, as it will be assumed the student is in need of the class wear.
  • Primary & Petite Level Classes
    • Our little dancers are required to wear any leotard and tights. Depending on the class, the appropriate shoes: Pink ballet shoes and/or black tap shoes are required. If a parent is included in the class, please wear clothing which will allow you to move. Generally athletic wear works best.
  • Ballet
    • Black leotard (approved by studio), Pink tights and pink ballet shoes are required. Teens (13+) have permission to wear black unitards. All other clothing items are not allowed during class.
  • Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop & All Others
    • Studio dress code black leotard, Studio dress code capris, and appropriate foot wear.
If you have further questions, please direct them to any staff member working in the office.
Dancer/Student Hygiene
Proper hygiene is essential in all aspects of life. It is very hard to approach a child or parent about a lack of cleanliness or a foul body odor. However, in a dance studio where activities induce sweat and children are moving through the space, odors can become a terrible distraction and an embarrassment for the child, should a classmate be insensitive and say something out loud. To avoid these problems, please be sure all dance wear is laundered after each wearing; hair should be clean and pulled back properly, and deodorant should be a consideration for all students age 7 and up for dance class. Please, NO PERFUME prior to class as this will cause a terrible odor, as well as aggravate allergies of other students.
 Product Returns/Exchanges/Refunds
The Glow Dance Company is more than happy to do an even exchange for any items that may be ordered and do not fit within 5 days and have not been worn. All customized apparel and product sales are final sale and are not eligible for return or refund.
Trial Classes
We offer each potential student 1 FREE trial class. We do not collect or require a deposit or pre-paid tuition in order for a potential student/family to take advantage of the 1 free trial class.
